    Cheating is sometimes
necessary.  Simply press ?
and type in a cheat. Here
are all the cheats and their
effect.


ZAP            Clears 4 surrounding squares

DARK, +DARK    Makes the room dark; +DARK
               Sets the flag DARK as well

-DARK          Takes away the darkness,
               clears the flag DARK
               Also clears an illusion

+DEBUG         The obsolete cheat; used to
               be needed for cheating in a
               previous version of ZZT;
               weird messages are seen
               during play.
               Sets the flag DEBUG as well.

-DEBUG         Takes away whatever +DEBUG
               does, clears flag DEBUG.

TIME           Get 30 extra seconds
               (in timed boards)

HEALTH         Get 50 extra health

AMMO           Get 5 extra ammo

TORCHES        Get 4 extra torches

GEMS           Get 5 extra gems

KEYS           Get all 7 keys

+(flagname)    Sets a flag

-(flagname)    Clears a flag

In some games, it is necessary to use the + and -(flagname) cheats. It is a clever way to let the player interact with the author's world.
