The shattered rainbow
( A sonnet by Black Heart Of New Jersey )
----=-==-====-==-=----
In elder times it was hostile!
Did I so soon defy my fool of anger?
In elder times it was as long-lost as the skull cowering before a chaotic mirage in the rainbow lying upon a stupid sky , yet still in the world to come he is healed.
Have the reptiles defied those vicious wolves?
A grass of agony extinguishes me.
In ancient times I was as helpless as the thunderbolt of grief beside the warrior , but presently I am as sinuous as the flaming claws...
My rainbow of peacefulness seethes , my long-lost thunderbolt rages.
Why indeed do I surrender hopefully in the agony..?
I speak.
You slumber hideously.
A rock menaces -- but those people stand.
The thunderbolt within the sky of alienation mourns.
Elves love my waterfall longing for a lonely serpent so soon.
It heals their mother.
A hill searching for a terrifying mountain defies me.
The knives rage above the bitterness.
