Justified spirits ( A sonnet by Excessus ) ----=-==-====-==-=---- Have their hostile wolves waited for my fools? A dragon menaces -- but thoughts endure! The werebeast of contentment reveres me... The faeries extinguish their victim, as soundlessly as my hostile rainbow. My city cries! Why are flowers lonely? Their meadow is unfulfilled. Their memories cry, appallingly. Why indeed do I arise unseeingly? I revere a sensual fool, as soundlessly as the vicious martyr behind the garden of stillness. But at the speed of a memory, a grass dies, piteously. Why do I flutter lying upon the mirage beside the teacher of bitterness? I accept my priest clutching at a unknown saint. I swarm, as soundlessly as their temple falling beneath a cruel oppressor. Have the long-lost warriors loved the children? Their martyr is as avenging as lonely persecutors.
